With the gov't having stepped in to bail out Amtrak, how do they not do the same for UUNET? They could opt out based on the fraud involved but can the gov't really allow a messy and problematic situation with the largest portion of the internet?

This is the number 2 long distance company, and the number one backbone company in the United States, and they can't make it work? How is that possible?
The comparisons to Enron are annoying because we have a product, a damned good product, and we could be successful if not for the greed and shortsightedness of WorldCom executives.
