INFOMART
purchases Boston property for telecom center

June 21, 2000 -- INFOMART has purchased a 400,000-square-foot
property at in the Boston suburb of Watertown, Mass. for a new
data center.
The Dallas-based
company will significantly retrofit the property at 555 Pleasant
Street and lease it to telecom providers and Internet firms. The
new property will be named INFOMART Boston.'
"The
Watertown location is central to both the bandwidth user and provider
communities in the Greater Boston area,"' said Thomas Niles,
INFOMART partner and vice president of development. "`It
is positioned for a speedy conversion and will significantly enhance
a growing telecommunications corridor."
INFOMART said it will invest more than $20 million improving
the structure and bolstering its technical infrastructure.
"This property has key features fundamental to Internet,
co-location and telecommunications providers such as a heavy floor
loading capacity of 250 pounds per square foot, large contiguous
floor plates, high ceilings and proximity to local and long distance
fiber optic networks,'' said INFOMART partner Dick Galvin.
The
facility is the company's fourth telecommunications property.
INFOMART currently owns and operates similar facilities in Dallas
and recently announced plans to redevelop the former Terminal
Annex Post Office facility in downtown Los Angeles.
