Switch
& Data Acquires Extranet

June 26, 2000 -- Switch & Data Facilities Co. (S&DFC) has
acquired ExtraNet, a privately held New York-based co-location
facilities company. The terms of the transaction were not announced.
"This acquisition strengthens our network and helps us to
maintain our plans for growth,'' said Stephen B. Kelly, CEO of
S&DFC. "`The addition of ExtraNet, one of the best independent
carrier-neutral co-location businesses, adds both significant
infrastructure as well as talented management and technical resources
to our growing company.''
ExtraNet
operates from a technology centers at 111 Eighth Avenue, known
for its large flexible floor plates and deep back-up power systems.
S&DFC will absorb 10 employees from ExtraNet, raising its staffing
to approximately 100 people. Michael
Collado, founder and former CEO of ExtraNet, will join S&DFC as
Director of New Business Development.

into the company.''
Founded
in 1997, Switch & Data Facilities Company is a pioneer in the
carrier hotel business. The company says it intends to have 40
domestic co-location facilities operational by the end of 2000,
as well as an additional 50 leases, both domestic and abroad.
