CarrierHotels News Staff
Aug. 22, 2000 -- BandwidthCenter, Inc., a Worcester, Mass.-based
Internet data center provider, said today it had successfully
raised $800,000 in its first round of funding.
Trautman Wasserman and Company, a private equity firm specializing
in funding for early-stage technology firms, acted as agent for
a group of private investors in the Series A financing.
"This
first round of funding will permit us to complete installation
of the support systems and company-owned network equipment in
our first facility in Worcester,'' said Pamela Mercanti, Co-Founder
and VP of Strategic Planning. "The wheels are in motion to
provide similar services for an additional six cities.''
BandwidthCenter
provides colocation and other data center services to corporations,
universities and government agencies that need high-speed access
to the Internet. Under a colocation agreement, a BandwidthCenter
client locates essential computer and networking equipment in
specially designed cages or racks owned and maintained by BandwidthCenter.
