Telehouse
Expands New York Facility
CarrierHotels News Staff
Sept. 19, 2000 -- Citing "unprecedented demand"
for colocation space at its facilities, Telehouse America said
today it will add 40,000 additional square feet of space to its
Broadway Center in New York's financial district by end of this
year.
"The
first phase (of the facility) was completed in late1997 and by
mid-1999 we were forced to add our West Wing, an additional 20,000
square feet of space," said John Shields, Head of Engineering
and Operations for telehouse. "What we expected would take three
years to fill when first built, has sold much more quickly than
anticipated. We've had to accelerate our growth plans in order
to insure expansion availability for existing clients, our primary
concern."
The expansion project will add 40,000 square feet of secure, fire
and power-protected co-location space
Founded
in 1987, Telehouse America
develops secure, high-quality carrier neutral colocation space
in which companies can house their IT and telecommunications equipment
in a power-protected environment.
