Metromedia Plans Nine More Centers

Sept. 26, 2000 -- Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc.will open nine new Internet Service Exchange (ISX) facilities in cities throughout the United States and Europe by the end of this year, the company said today.
Metromedia will open new ISX facilities in Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston, Amsterdam and Paris, and additional facilities in Virginia, San Jose and the United Kingdom. The company's existing network includes facilities in San Jose, Virginia, the United Kingdom, Frankfurt, Tokyo, and Vienna, Austria.
"Our strategy to build ISX facilities aggressively in these key cities is only outpaced by the demand for the services we offer,'' said Paul Vixie, chief technology officer of Metromedia Fiber Network
