Sept. 27, 2000 -- Faced with growing customer demand, Digital Island, Inc. today announced it will open a major regional data center in Dallas.
Digital Island said it chose Dallas for its 100,000 square-foot facility, scheduled to open in December 2000, because of the city's rich Internet infrastructure and booming high-tech business community.

Digital Island has built seven world-class data centers strategically located in New York, San Jose, Dallas, Honolulu, Hong Kong, Tokyo and London. The hardened data centers are housed in ultra-secure facilities maintained by 24 x 7 on-site personnel, and each contain backup and disaster recovery systems to ensure the safety and availability of customers' applications, services and data.
Digital Island is headquartered in San Francisco with a presence in 26 countries.
