Architel
to Acquire MSP MightyView
New platform will help Dallas provider deliver remote IT services
Oct. 9, 2003 -- Dallas IT outsourcing firm Architel said
today it has acquired MightyView, a managed service provider to
the educational and government market.
Architel earlier this year relocated its colocation facilities
from the Univision Building to a larger space it acquired at the
Dallas Infomart. The assets acquired include MightyView's SuperNOC
network monitoring and management platform and a number of customer
contracts, including a multi-year contract with Sylvan Learning
Systems Inc.
"Architel
views the MightyView acquisition as an integral piece of our product
strategy for our Fractional approach to IT service delivery,"
said Scott Ryan, President of Architel. "The addition of this
existing ASP capability will further enhance Architelšs ability
to provide a comprehensive set of service options to the small
and medium size business marketplace."
Architel's
"Fractional IT" approach aims to make IT outsourcing services
accessible to small and medium businesses by supplying remote
network management and monitoring services. An Architel appliance
housed on the client's network is monitored from the company's
network operations center (NOC) with services priced between $30,000
and $80,000 annually.
MightyView
was formerly part of Lockheed Martinšs Information Support Services
division (OAO Corporation), and was spun-off in 2000. The company
provides a real-time view into an entire infrastructure through
its easy to use web-based portal software.
"We are
very pleased with this transaction which will enable the business
built by MightView to reach the next stage in its evolution,"
said Howard Ulep, CEO of MightView. "Architel brings a strong
balance sheet, deep domain expertise, and a track record that
positions them as the ideal provider to deliver these services
to our customers."
Architel
is a provider of outsourced information technology services to
small and medium size businesses.
