JMA
Buys Carrier Center Los Angeles
Adds to portfolio that includes buildings in San Francisco, Oakland
and LA
Oct. 18, 2002 -- JMA Properties, Inc., has acquired Carrier
Center Los Angeles, a 450,000 square foot carrier hotel at 600
West 7th Street in downtown Los Angeles, the company said yesterday.
JMA
purchased the building from 360networks, paying $27 million in
a bankruptcy court sale. 360networks filed for Chapter 11 protection
in June, 2001.
The
acquisition adds to JMA's portfolio of telecom buildings, which
includes properties in San Francisco, Oakland, Phoenix and Los
Angeles, where JMA owns Telecom Center Los Angeles, a 163,600
square foot building at 530 West 6th Street.

Carrier Center Los Angeles (CCLA), located in the heart
of the Wilshire telecom corridor, offers state-of-the-art infrastructure,
with mission critical N+2 back-up capabilities.
Built
in 1915 as the headquarters for the J.W. Robinson department store,
600 West 7th was redeveloped in 2000 as a carrier hotel by Telecom
Real Estate Services, which later sold the site to 360networks.
JMA
Wired, the telecom unit of JMA Properties, will immediately
open and operate its fourth Network Access Center (NAC) in Carrier
Center Los Angeles. Each NAC is a carrier neutral colocation facility
suitable for web hosting, at a storage, disaster recovery and
the deployment of wireless network equipment.
Additional Network Access Centers are located in JMA facilities
in San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles.
