Oct. 27, 2000 -- InSite Real Estate Development, LLC has
announced the acquisition and development of the St. Louis Information
Technology Center located at 1600 North Broadway in downtown St.
Louis.
The
225,000 square foot building, which is being renovated to house
multiple web hosting, colocation, Internet and telecommunications
service providers, expects its first tenants to occupy space in
the first quarter 2001.
"The building's unique infrastructure, excess land for generators,
multiple fiber providers and abundant electrical supply make the
facility an ideal location for tenants with the most stringent
technical requirements," says Dan Shannon of InSite,
a Chicago-area real estate developer
Originally constructed as a railway freight station, the building's
unique structural components include 400-plus pounds floor loading,
38-foot column spacing, 13-foot to 21-foot ceiling clear heights
and 100,000 square foot floor plates.
The Global Technology Group of CB Richard Ellis is handling leasing
for the facility.
