Oct. 30, 2000 -- DataCentersNow has entered the Chicago-area
market by acquiring a commercial building site adjacent to O'Hare
International Airport in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
The
new facility, to be known as Cyber Fortress @ O'Hare, is a 110,000
square-foot data center-ready facility that will be completed
in December. The project marks DataCentersNow's first foray outside
its primary market in Northern Virginia's technology corridor.
The
company currently has over 500,000 square feet of data center-ready
facilities under construction in Northern Virginia and leases
the stand-alone facilities to infrastructure-based telecommunications
firms.
Cyber
Fortress @ O'Hare is located at 2355 Wood Dale Road in Elk Grove
Village, near the 170,000 square foot Internet Data Center under
development by Exodus. Additionally, DataCentersNow is in negotiations
to purchase approximately 30 acres of land in Elk Grove Village
and Itasca for future data center development.
"Currently, most firms seeking data center compatible
space in the Chicago market are forced to locate downtown in less
secure multi-tenanted `telecom hotels','' said Chris Epstein,
president of DataCentersNow. "Cyber Fortress @ O'Hare offers
a much preferred alternative."
DataCentersNow
isa division of BECO Management, one of the largest privately
held commercial real estate acquisition and management concerns
in the Washington, DC metropolitan area Since
launching last January, the company has approximately 500,000
square feet of data center-ready facilities under development
throughout Northern Virginia.
