Nov. 1, 2001 -- Velocita has signed on as the first tenant at One Congress Tech Center, a carrier hotel located the corner of Stone & Congress in Tucson's central business district.
Velocita, formerly known as PF.Net, has signed a long-term lease to locate a long-haul POP site at the building, and is beginning their improvements immediately, according to developer Terence Plas of Ideal Development Corp.
"In these turbulent economic times, Velocita continues their network buildout, validating what we all believe - that long-term, we are operating in a fundamentally sound industry, notwithstanding the short term challenges caused by the rocky financial markets," said Plas.
One Congress Tech Center was newly constructed in 2000, and is in the process of completing a meet-me room that will provide cross-connects between the eight available fiber carriers.
