Doctors
Company Selects Las Vegas
Will host disaster recovery operation with Collocation Solutions
May 6, 2003 -- The Doctors Company, the largest
national doctor-owned malpractice insurer, has selected Collocation
Solutions' Las Vegas data center as the site for its mirrored
disaster recovery installation.
The Doctors Company said its decision to develop its own hot site
solution was driven by concerns about availability and reliability.

"We needed to make sure our Disaster Recovery site was
located in a destination city that was not affected by weather
and other risks caused by Mother Nature," said Richard Diamond,
CIO of The Doctors Company. "Collocation Solution's Las Vegas
site is a favorable location for California companies that want
to mirror and/or back-up data in areas less affected by earthquakes,
power shortages or other events," he added.
"Many companies are finding mirrored hot sites are a quicker,
more affordable solution than traditional DR solutions," said
Jim DeVenny, president and chief executive officer of Collocation
Solutions. "A disaster recovery plan is essential for West Coast
companies and Las Vegas is the perfect location for a company's
hot site."
Collocation Solutions'
18,000 square foot Last Vegas data center is centrally located
in the valley. It offers the best fiber and wireless connectivity
available in the market. It is a fully redundant, carrier neutral,
Tier 1 quality data center
. California based, The Doctors Company has been protecting the
careers and professional reputations of physicians for 26 years,
and provides coverage to more than 28,000 physicians coast-to-coast.
