Verado
Completes National Network
May 17, 2001 -- Data center operator Verado today announced
that it has obtained additional connectivity from Level 3 Communications,
Inc. and a second unidentified network operator.
Verado, formerly known as First World, said the deals will complete
the company's nationwide backbone, giving Verado's eight data
centers access to multiple peering and transit partners using
multiple OC-3 and higher connections.

The Denver-based company said the network enhancements
lay the groundwork for higher connection rates in the future,
as well as the opportunity to offer advanced global load balancing
and server mirroring products.
"With
these enhancements, we expect increased speed and reliability
when moving our customers' data over our nationwide contiguous
IP network and between our eight data centers," said John
Harper, chief technology officer for Verado. "(Our)
network now has a diverse range of backbone and transit providers.
Our multiple connection points and Cisco Powered Network status
provide a competitive bandwidth environment that offers multiple
levels of redundancy."
Verado currently operates data centers in Denver, Dallas,
Houston, Portland, Santa Clara, Irvine, San Diego, and Salt Lake
City, totalling approximately 240,000 square feet of space. Verado
confirmed expansion plans for two Points of Presence (POPs) in
Chicago and New York.
Verado Holdings, Inc. is a
provider of outsourced managed services and data center solutions
for businesses.
