At Aperian
Company
reduces workforce by 20 percent
March 16, 2001 -- Web hosting and managed services provider
Aperian, Inc. said today it is reducing its nationwide workforce
by 20 percent, or 39 positions.
The companysaid the cuts "primarily affect positions
associated with initiatives that have not met revenue targets."
Calling the action ``hard but healthy,'' Aperian president
and COO Wayne Irwin said the moves will eliminate low-revenue
activities and refocus the company on its core business of providing
Internet-related data-center services.
"At Aperian we operate by six simple rules that give
every employee clear guidance when it comes to making business
decisions," said Irwin. "That is essential in a business
environment where change may be the only constant.
"Two of our rules govern all decisions and activity
associated with resource allocation and support of Aperian's financial
goals,'' Irwin continued. "When our activities fail to meet
established criteria, we need to be disciplined in living by our
rules, even when that involves a difficult decision such as the
one today. Our customers, employees and shareholders will be well-served
by this discipline.''
. Aperian, Inc. provides secure and scalable managed Internet
service solutions.
