Sprint
Boosts INFOMART Los Angeles
102,9510
square foot lease helps fill new facility
June 7, 2001 -- Sprint has signed a lease to house its
Los Angeles E-Solutions Center in 102,951 square feet of space
in the new INFOMART Los Angeles carrier hotel, the Dallas-based
developer said this week.
The
center is one of 18 Sprint is launching throughout the United
States. In April the telecom company leased 100,000 square feet
in the Metro Technology Center Atlanta for a similar facility.

The lease lifts INFOMART Los Angeles' occupancy rate to
57 percent, with a total of 251,461 square feet currently leased.
Teleglobe and one other unnamed telecom are the other tenants
in the building, according to INFOMART. The property is scheduled
for occupancy in July.
"The
Sprint agreement adds another world-class tenant to INFOMART Los
Angeles," said INFOMART president Tom Jones. "In the 13 months
since we announced our acquisition of the property, we have completed
most of the retrofit on the property and have leased more than
half of the space. We are on track to redevelop this facility
into a key asset for Los Angeles.
"These first three residents of our community are well-known,
financially stable companies whose presence will attract other
telecom and technology firms," Jones added.
INFOMART has spent $60 million to purchase and convert the historic
Terminal Annex building - formerly the primary postal facility
for Los Angeles - into a 479,000 square foot technology center.
INFOMART operates six carrier hotel properties in Dallas,
Los Angeles, Boston and Houston, totaling nearly 3 million square
feet.
