NAP of the Americas West will operate in existing Terremark data
center
July 23, 2002 -- Terremark Worldwide, Inc. today announced
that it has opened a new network access point, NAP of the Americas/West
in Santa Clara, Calif.
The
Miami-based developer of the NAP of the Americas said the new
operation required minimal capital investment. It will be housed
in finished space in a 40,000 square foot data center Terremark
owns at 3030 Corvin Drive in Santa Clara, initially built to house
the company's colocation unit.

Terremark said the new access point will serve carriers,
government and private sector customers seeking carrier-neutral
access to the major cable systems serving the West Coast and overseas
markets.
The
company said the new network access point "will provide additional
redundancy to the network operations center at Terremark's flagship
NAP of the Americas in Miami."
"The opening of the NAP of the Americas/West demonstrates our
confidence in the market and in the opportunities that we have
today in our sales pipeline, both from the government and private
sectors," said Manuel D. Medina, Chairman and CEO of Terremark
Worldwide, Inc. "The new NAP expands the virtual marketplace at
the NAP of the Americas and provides Terremark with the ability
to reach out to new customers in the West Coast and Asia/Pacific
region."

and provides network services. Terremark is the owner and operator
of the NAP of the Americas and id building TerreNAP Data Centers
