Clise
Launches Seattle Data Center
Former ClearBlue site now connected directly to the Westin Building
July 1, 2003 -- Clise Properties, the majority owner of
the Westin Building, has expanded its Seattle data center presence
with the launch of the Securities Building Technology Center,
the company announced.
The 20,000
square foot data center within the Securities Building was initially
built by COLO.COM and recently upgraded by ClearBlue Technologies.
Clise assumed management of the facility from ClearBlue, which
will stay on as a tenant.
The Securities
Building Technology Center will be operated by the management
team of The Westin
Building, Seattle's premier telecom hotel. A fiber connection
between the two facilities provides SBTC tenants with access to
more than 150 telecom companies housed in the Westin Building.
"Tech
companies can move in today and be connected to the Internet service
provider of their choice within hours," said Kyle Peters, Vice
President and General Manager of Clise Properties, Inc. "With
our Westin Building direct connection, we offer what no other
facility in town can offer."
The facilities
are built with the N+1 infrastructure required for today's technology
dependent companies including battery-backed power plants, redundant
HVAC units, state-of-the-art, very-early smoke detection systems,
a CCTV digital video recording system, biometric access control,
and a generator to provide power in the event of extended utility
outages.
"This
space offers businesses the reliability and connectivity they
need to compete in today's highly competitive e-business environment,"
said Westin Building Telecom Facilities Manager Michael Boyle.
"Over a five-year period, a company can save up to $200,000 leasing
2,000 square feet at the Securities Building Technology Center
instead of building out their own space, while at the same time
retaining a much more reliable and robust site."
Founded
in 1889, Clise Properties,
Inc. owns and manages more than three million square feet
of real estate in the downtown Seattle area. Its commercial office
properties include the Securities Building, Westin Building, Denny
Building, Sixth & Lenora Building and 1700 Seventh Avenue.
