Unveils 30 NAP Customers
Two 'major carriers' also have signed agreements, company says
July 9, 2001 -- Terremark Worldwide said today that it
has signed agreements with 32 customers for the newly opened NAP
of the Americas in Miami.
The
Miami-based Internet facilities company released the names of
30 of those customers, and said the remaining two are "major
international Tier-1 carriers" to be announced later.

Among the customers that have signed multi-year, revenue-producing
contracts are Global Crossing, Level 3, Metromedia Fiber, Qwest,
AOL Time Warner Communications, EPIK Communications, FPL Fibernet
and XO Communications.
"Our conviction that the NAP of the Americas is critical to the
telecommunications industry has been validated by the number and
caliber of customers we announced today," said Manuel D. Medina,
Chairman and CEO of Terremark Worldwide, Inc.
"Our growing list of customers represents the 'who's who' of the
telecom world and further demonstrates the significance of the
NAP of the Americas as we meet the demands of the Latin American,
European, African and domestic markets," Medina added.
On June 29, the NAP of the Americas went online in Terremark's
750,000 square foot Technology Center of the Americas in downtown
in Miami.
Other
providers signing contracts included ACSI Network Technologies,
Centennial Florida Switch, Convergence Telecommunications, Deutsche
Telekom, Emergia USA, ENRON Broadband Services, Florida International
University (FIU) AMPATH Network/ Internet2, GlobalXchange Communications,
IFX Communications Ventures, MetroRed Telecomunicaciones S.A,
Mirror Image Internet, NetRail, Newcom, New World Network USA
(ARCOS 1), OCTET Group, Progress Telecommunications, PSINet, R&D
Network Services, Inc., SBC Internet Services, Swisscom AG, TriMax
Technologies, Inc. and YIPES.
