Expands in San Francisco
Jan. 15, 2002 eXchange Colocation has completed a major
expansion of its neutral colocation facility in San Francisco,
the company said this week.
eXchange
has added more than 39,000 square feet of Internet data center
space in the carrier hotel at 200 Paul Avenue, which is operated
by its sister company, Wave Exchange. The expansion gives eXchange
69,000 square feet of finished space at the 420,000 square foot
Paul Avenue facility.
 The
company will launch the expansion with an open house Thursday
(Jan. 17) from 4 to 7 p.m.
eXchange
will use the additional space to sell its "e-location"
outsourcing services to business customers. The San Francisco
facility offers e-locators the ability to obtain a presence at
a gateway to Asia/Pacific and the rest of the U.S., according
to eXchange
Connectivity is a major strength for the 200 Paul site. In October,
eXchange signed deals with PAIX.net and Sigma Networks to enhance
interconnections at the 200 Paul facility. Carriers and service
providers with a presence at the site include Cogent Communications,
Level 3, Worldcom, MFN, Pacific Bell/SBC, Qwest, RCN, Sigma Networks,
Telseon, Time Warner, Universal Access and Williams Communications,
among others.
eXchange
Colocation and Wave
Exchange are both part of the U.K.-based Somerston Group of
companies.
