Leases Miami Space
Jan. 26, 2001 -- Teleglobe has leased 99,940 square feet
of space in Miami's Doral eCommerce Park, according to RTE Realty,
which helped negotiate the lease.
Miami
was one of eight cities targeted by Teleglobe in November, when
it announced a worldwide initiative to develop more than 400,000
square feet of data center space and 200,000 square feet of colocation
space. Other cities on Teleglobe's list of strategic target markets
include Frankfurt, San Francisco, Toronto, London, New York, Tokyo
and Washington D.C.
Teleglobe
also signed a lease late last year for a major portion of 1828
Egbert Avenue, a new telecom center in San Francisco.
Doral
eCommerce Park is a carrier neutral facility adjacent to the Doral
Golf Resort, and will encompass more than 620,000 square feet
of telecom and high-tech development when fully built-out.
Teleglobe
originally signed a 12-year lease for about 70,000 square feet
at the Miami site, but later amended the deal to add additional
space, according to RTE.
Teleglobe
is a leading global provider of broadband services with an extensive
global Internet network, delivering advanced broadband applications
to customers in more than 100 countries.
