Switch
& Data Completes 11 Facilities
Company now has 34 centers in its network
Jan. 26, 2001 -- Switch & Data Facilities Co. has completed
the build-out of 11 new data centers, expanding its total to 34,
the company said this week.
Switch
& Data said it added more than 200,000 square feet of telecommunications
property to its network with new centers in Cleveland; Denver;
Jacksonville, Fla.; Kansas City, Mo.; Las Vegas, Memphis, Tenn.;
Minneapolis, Nashville, Tenn.; Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Salt Lake
City.
"As Switch and Data grows, a larger national footprint better
serves our increasing customer demand for multiple sites and expanded
services," said Patricia Higgins, president and CEO, Switch and
Data. "Our customers are now able to leverage our multiple sites
where they can reap the benefit of our high quality of service."
The new sites are:
- 1255 Euclid
Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. This 12,000 square foot facility (with
potential expansion capabilities of up to 20,000 feet) is located
in the Sterling Building, approximately a half-mile from the
Tandem switch.
- 9706 East
Easter Avenue, Denver (Englewood), Colo. 80112. A 17,500 square
foot location.
- 2096 Dennis
Street, Jacksonville, Fla. 32204. A 20,000 square foot facility
with capability to expand to 49,580 square feet.
- 1025 Grand
Avenue, Kansas City, Mo. 64106. A19,400 square foot facility
is located on the ground floor.
- 4489 East
Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, Nev. 89104. A 15,000 square foot facility
in a one-story building.
- 3599 Knight
Road, Memphis, Tenn. 38118. A 20,000 square foot facility located
on the ground floor.
- 331 Second
Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minn. 55401. A 15,000 square foot
facility located on the third floor.
- 147 Fourth
Avenue, Nashville, Tenn. 37219. A 35,000 square foot facility
located on the eighth floor.
- 3110 North
Central Avenue, Park Central Mall, Building 1, Phoenix, Ariz.
85012. A 15,000 square foot facility located on the ground floor
of the building.
- Allegheny
Center Mall, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15212. A 20,000 square foot site.
- 179 Social
Hall Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. A 26,140 square foot
facility housed on the first and second floors of this two-story
building.
