  • Feb. 10, 2003 -- Fast-growing St. Louis area hosting provider RackMy.com will move into a larger data center it has acquired from ClearBlue Technologies, the company said today.
The 10,000 square foot facility, originally operated by Colo.com, is located in The Bandwidth Exchange Building at 900 Walnut. Terms were not disclosed.
RackMy.com, based in Clayton, Mo., has experienced 500 percent growth in the past year on the strength of a 100 percent uptime guarantee. The company says it has maintained that performance standard for 27 months.
"This acquisition enables us to easily grow and accommodate clients at all levels," said RackMy.com President Brad Pittenger. "We plan to maintain a carrier-neutral colocation space with connections available from all major providers."
"We are excited to have RackMy.com as a tenant," said Bob Guller, managing member for Bandwidth Exchange Buildings. "Their growth and stability are encouraging in the current market."
The data center is situated on a dual-power grid from the power company, includes redundant AC and DC power plants, parallel PowerWare UPS systems and A & B battery plants for DC power, redundant HVAC units, and redundant diesel power generators to protect us in the event of extended utility company outages.
ClearBlue, which acquired 25 data centers in a flurry of acquisitions in the past 18 months, has said ti will focus its data center operations in 13 facilities being managed by its NaviSite operating unit.
