Sees Success In Wireless
Verizon, Cingular Wireless top new customers at San Francisco facility
Feb. 25, 2003 -- Revenues at eXchange @ 200 Paul grew 23
percent in 2002, capping what the company described as a "momentous
year" for the San Francisco carrier hotel facility.
Wireless
providers Verizon and Cingular Wireless were among the 40 new
customers leasing space or services at the 420,000
square foot building, while 20 more existing customers expanded
their business at 200 Paul.
"Last
year may have been the most challenging year ever for the telecommunications
industry," said John Wilson, president and CEO of eXchange
@ 200 Paul. "But with our tier-one customer roster, reduced
debt and solid revenue growth, eXchange @ 200 Paul and our customers
are primed to enjoy long-term prosperity."
Wilson
said eXchange @ 200 Paul has been cash-flow positive since 2000,
and has experienced 439 percent revenue growth since 1999.
A key strategic focus in 2002 was the wireless sector, according
to Wilson. As one of the most wired cities in the nation, San
Francisco has been a hotbed of growth for wireless Internet access.
The roster of companies which contracted for new or expanded requirements
at 200 Paul in 2002 includes Qwest Communications, WilTel Communications,
Cogent Communications, Reliable Hosting, United Colocation Group,
Whitaker Consulting, Corrigo and Verio.
The
campus at 200 Paul in San
Francisco is better than 80 percent occupied, and includes entitlements
to build another 330,000 square feet of telecom space. The company
also owns and operates eXchange
at 1100 Space Park, a 170,000 square foot carrier hotel in
Santa Clara.
The eXchange buildings and eXchange
Colo are all part of the Somerston Group, a British investment
firm.
