Relera
Sets March Opening for Five Facilities
Feb. 26, 2001 -- Relera Inc.'s first five Internet data
centers will open in March, the company said today, marking the
first wave in a planned $300 million rollout of facilities in
"underserved" markets.
The
company said it will open centers next month in Richmond, Va.;
Memphis, Tenn.; Las Vegas; Charlotte, N.C. and San Antonio. Relera
said its schedule calls for mid-year openings of additional centers
in Sacramento, Calif.; Raleigh, N.C.; Salt Lake City; Cleveland;
Denver and San Diego.
"Relera
recognized a significant opportunity in 'edge-of-the-Internet'
markets across the country,'' said Eric Hood, CEO of Relera. "Our
research tells us that companies in these markets are growing
fast, but are currently underserved in terms of advanced technology
solutions that will help accelerate their businesses.
"Relera
is capitalizing on this growth to emerge as the leading provider
of outsourced hosting, managed solutions and value- added services
in these markets,'' Hood added.
Relera has established partnerships with some industry heavyweights
- including Cisco Systems, Inc., Juniper Networks, Level 3 Communications
- to offer its customers a package of infrastructure and managed
services.
"
We believe Relera has a unique opportunity to establish early
leadership in its target markets,'' said Ted Mocarski, managing
director of Navis Partners, one of Relera's key investors.
Founded
in January 2000 and backed by more than $300 million in equity
financing, Relera plans to
develop one million square feet of space in 25 Internet Data Centers
across the country.
