How
Low Can They Go?
Data center providers hit hard for second straight
day
April 4, 2001 -- Stock prices of leading data center companies
continued to sink yesterday, sustaining double digit losses for
the second consecutive day as the broader market struggled to
stabilize.
The
volatile session ended with the Dow up 29.7 points, while the
NASDAQ dipped 34 points on the session, a loss of about 2 percent.
But losses
were considerably steeper among Internet infrastructure shares.
The 20 issues in the CarrierHotels.com
Market Monitor averaged a 5.5 percent loss on the day, with
several industry bellwethers taking it on the chin for a second
straight day. Exodus Communications, Level 3 Communications, Digex
and InterNAP Network Services all shed at least 15 percent of
their value.
