Relera
Opens Charlotte Center
April 9, 2001 -- Managed hosting provider Relera Inc. continued
its rapid rollout of Internet data center this week with the opening
of its new facility in Charlotte, N.C.
Relera, founded early last year with $300 million in financing,
provides hosting, data storage, intelligent load balancing, advanced
caching and security to bandwidth-intensive companies.
"Charlotte
businesses now have an outsourced Internet solution in their own
backyard which was previously unavailable,'' said Jeff King, a
20-year IT industry veteran and director of Releras Charlotte
IDC, who said Relera's services "allow businesses to focus
on what they do best instead of worrying about the complexity
of maintaining an in-house infrastructure.''
The
Charlotte center is one of five facilities Relera is debuting
in the space of a month, with the others in Richmond, Va.; Memphis,
Tenn.; Las Vegas; and San Antonio. The company plans "mid-year"
openings of centers in Sacramento, Calif.; Raleigh, N.C.; Salt
Lake City; Cleveland; Denver and San Diego.
Relera
has established partnerships with some industry heavyweights -
including Cisco Systems, Inc., Juniper Networks, Level 3 Communications
- to offer its customers a package of infrastructure and managed
services.
Relera
Inc. has headquarters in Denver and San Diego.
